The Royal College of Physicians’ (RCP's) Northern regional office has evolved since opening in 1995 and is now a resource providing help and support to clinicians throughout the region.
The office is dedicated to furthering professional development and delivers educational events for physicians of all grades.
We run courses aimed specifically at trainee doctors – procedural skills courses for core medical trainees, CMT teaching days, mock PACES, and mandatory half-day training programmes for the region's GIM StRs. We also facilitate the MRCP Part 1 and Part 2 examinations held in Newcastle.
The regional advisers approve job descriptions, RCP fellowship nominations, CPD approval applications and national ACCEA. For job description approvals please email firstname.lastname@example.org. Our interaction with Health Education North East's school of medicine, as well as with the RCP, has enhanced educational provision and quality assurance and ensures we meet the standards required for a regional office.
