Professor David Oliver wins RCP presidential election

David Oliver has been elected the 122nd president of the Royal College of Physicians (RCP). He will take over from current president, Dr Andrew Goddard, on 13 September 2022, and serve a 4-year term.

Professor Chris Whitty, the Chief Medical Officer for England, was the opening speaker at Medicine 2022. Professor Whitty gave a wide-ranging talk on the relative roles of the state, the medical profession and the individual in improving public health.
