The RCP Library offers access to ejournals, ebooks, bibliographic databases and print resources for members, course students and members of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine. Our collection is focused on RCP specialties, clinical teaching, medical leadership, public health, and health policy.

Access elibrary and online resources

An OpenAthens account is the log-in method used to provide online resources to users entitled to full RCP member access. Please contact library@rcp.ac.uk for an account, providing us with a non-NHS email address.

If you've forgotten your login details you can reset your OpenAthens password online.

If you are having problems with your log-in, finding what you are looking for, or accessing an article or other resource, please call +44 (0)20 3075 1490.

Print resources

The library holds a range of books including items published by the RCP and can be searched from the library catalogue. Print materials can be browsed in our study space and borrowed by post

Frequently Asked Questions

I have an NHS Athens account – is it the same?

No. OpenAthens is an identity and access management service that allows organisations to manage their online subscriptions. Each organisation will have different content depending on their subscriptions.

An RCP OpenAthens account gives you access to the online resources (ebooks, ejournals and databases) subscribed to by the RCP library, which will not be exactly the same as your NHS Athens account.

Why can’t I access the journal I want?

This could be because we don't have a subscription to that journal but please be sure to contact us for further information. We can source articles through our interlibrary loans or document supply service. Please report any technical issues to library@rcp.ac.uk.
