Clinical education faculty

For over 500 years, the Royal College of Physicians has been shaped and strengthened by its members and fellows. Thank you for being part of our community, and for everything you do to advance high quality care, education and professional standards across the UK and internationally.

We would now like to invite you to play an even greater role in shaping the future of medical education by joining our clinical education faculty.

Clinical education faculty role description
Bryony Alderman Headshot

'I enjoy the variety that being a member of the clinical education faculty brings. Co-facilitating RCP workshops is a refreshing interlude to clinical commitments, and the days provide an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues from different backgrounds and specialties.

It is valuable to understand challenges and successes through the experiences delegates share within the workshops and these are a learning opportunity for me too.'

Dr Bryony Alderman

RCP sustainability education fellow (2025-present) consultant, palliative medicine, Royal Surrey County Hospital

Become a member of the clinical education faculty

As a member of the volunteer faculty, you will join a community of experienced educators and clinicians who help us deliver high quality learning, workshops and programmes across the UK and abroad. Your insight, passion and experience can make a meaningful difference to the next generation of doctors, while supporting your own development as an educator.

We have a limited number of places available on our faculty each year. We welcome applications from senior physicians with an interest in teaching and education, including SAS doctors, consultants, alumni of our RCP clinical education fellowship, and recently retired physicians who would like to return to education.
