Aspiring Women Leaders
This course is a 1-day standalone workshop designed to introduce the theory of leadership and explore the unique experience of being a women either working towards or in a leadership position in healthcare.
We'll support you to explore your own leadership skills, barriers to leadership and actions you can take to progress in your leadership journey. It's open to all women in healthcare who are looking to explore and enhance their leadership development. You do not need to be in a formal leadership position to attend, all grades and roles are encouraged to join.
By participating in the Aspiring women leaders workshop, attendees will gain practical knowledge and skills to support their leadership development. The course is structured to deliver the following learning outcomes:
- Define what leadership looks and feels like as a woman
- Consider the barriers to being a leader and how to address them
- Develop awareness of your own leadership style and the behaviours of effective leaders
- Identify opportunities to develop your leadership experience
- Create strategies for effective communication in leadership scenarios
- Recognise areas for development and learn how to respond effectively to feedback
- Gain insight into limiting assumptions that may hinder your progress
- Develop an action plan for navigating your next steps in leadership.
These outcomes are designed to empower women to reflect on their leadership journey, build confidence, and take actionable steps towards their professional growth.
Women from all grades and roles in multi professional teams are encouraged to join. You do not need to be in a formal leadership position to attend.
