The RCP has appointed Dr Abdul-Majeed Salmasi to the post of senior examiner for PACES examinations.
Dr Salmasi takes over the role from Dr Tanzeem Raza who demits after three years in the role on 30 September.
Dr Salmasi is a consultant cardiologist at London North West Healthcare NHS Trust and the Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS trust and a clinical senior lecturer for the National Heart and Lung Institute at Imperial College. He has been a fellow of the RCP since 2013 and has been involved with the MRCP(UK) Part 2 clinical examination (PACES) since 2015 when he was first appointed as an examiner.
Since then he has regularly chaired and examined both in the UK and internationally and has successfully hosted the examination at Central Middlesex Hospital regularly for a number of years.
The appointment is for three years and the RCP is excited to begin work with Dr Salmasi as building work continues on RCP at The Spine, and in particular the new assessment suite, and we work towards the introduction of PACES 2020 in autumn 2020.
